[OOM: Futility.]Time seems to have slipped by, unnoticed, while Thomas spent the days alone in his room. Even still, he's not unaware of what day it is; hence why he has an uncharacteristically large glass of fine brandy in front of him. Thomas doesn't answer, but tilts the cover of the book so Jack can see it. "Bar's choice or reading material leaves something to be desired, I'm afraid."

Thomas glances to his right, on hearing the door open, and does a double-take as he spots the...well, whatever it is. Perhaps he's been lulled into a kind of complacency thanks to the friendliness that others have treated him with here, but he's not afraid of the...creature, exactly. Just rather stunned.
