Charlie is relieved to see the piano is unoccupied. He sets down his bass (brought every night in the hopes Angelo shows up) at the piano's side and sits on the bench. He plays a few scales to warm up, licks his lips.
Charlie hesitates, but just a moment. Well, it suits his mood anyway, and if Ludwig Van comes in tonight he could press his ear to the piano to hear it.
