He's got ten minutes. Ten minutes before the plane to the island leaves. Ellie ran into the airport to make a call to her fiancee and Grant-

Whistling Janey's got a Gun by Areosmith. (an outdoors man and a metalhead) Grant pushes open the door to the bar. It takes a few moments before he realizes where he is ( Read more... )

Molly has been awkwardly trying to ride the unicycle that the Bar gave her. It's not easy in a long skirt.

She happens to wobble near a table and see something interesting.

She fall/hops from the unicycle, and picks it up from where it's clattered to the floor, as though she meant to dismount so suddenly.

She points to the X-ray.

"What's that?"

And believe it or not, grant is so in a revere that he doesn't notice the unicycle.

"-This?" He stares, "It's a Prompsognithid. A dinosaur."

He shakes his head, "-X-ray taken from a recently discovered...or I guess I should say re-discovered animal." He shakes his head and sets the fax down.

This would be when he sees the Unicycle.

He's doing his best not to say anything, but Molly might notice the stare.

"It looks a bit like a dragon."

She just grins when he stares at the unicycle.

"Re-discovered? Did it get lost?"

Grant blinks a bit, "-The dinosaurs died out millions of years ago." He grins, "It looks a bit like a dragon without the wings. I guess but-"

Dragons. Aren't. Real. He can't get past this. Or maybe they come from the same world with the talking tinysaurus muns.

He studies Molly, "you're not from that poor guy's world where the dragons took over and burned everything to ashes are you?"

"Phrr?"

Raptor Red has recognized Grant, and come over to investigate. The ones that don't just throw meat and run are usually more interesting, from what she's learned.

And so, curious, she sticks her head into the booth, tilting it to the side and blinking first at Grant, then at the X-ray.

Grant freezes.

There's no Ray Stanz to talk to the dinosaur for him, nor is there a baby dinosaur to amuse him with it's cute antics. There is only an adult. And it's Big and a bit unnerving.

"....bet you're really familiar with these guys." Grant's voice is a bit off key, "...scavengers."

He points to the compy.

Red focuses more closesly on the x-ray, sticking her snout forward to sniff at it. She pulls her head back, snorting to herself. Scent isn't any help here. And while the bones remind her of some that she's seen on the ground or in what she's eaten, she's still not quite sure of what type of dinosaur it is.

"Snnh."

Grant sighs, "...You can't talk? Like that Triceratops or the Pterodactyl?"

He thought maybe, you know-
Well-who knows what to think.

Something makes a noise, and Grant tenses-for fear of provoking her or-well shoot-who knows how a dinosaur would react to the sound of a stomache growling?

"Dinner's supposed to be on the plane but..."

Looks like it might taste better here.

Talking to himself. Poor guy.
