entrance post

It was Archie's day off, and he had been holding a video game tournament with some friends outside of work. Yes, he had some, despite most people on the night shift having a difficulty having social lives outside of their work because of work hours. But Archie knew several people who worked on weird schedules as well, or those who just simply ( Read more... )

[ooc: Milli-timing this to before Sara gets turned into a guy. Squee!]

There is a woman sitting nearby. One who probably looks quite familiar.

She's scowling over a report she is reading.

Archie was curiously looking around the bar, moving away from the entrance. He didn't seem phased at all that he had ended up in some odd location he had no idea about. In fact, he looked excited at the prospect because by the looks of it, this was no ordinary place. There were ordinary looking people in addition to people looking not so ordinary.

And as a sci-fi and fantasy geek, this was really interesting and exciting.

But he was distracted for the moment when he spotted a familiar face. Hey, look! It was Sara!

How could he not say hi when he found a co-worker at such a location? So he made his way over to her, standing next to where she was sitting.

"Hey, Sara," he piped, grinning widely.

Her head shoots up. "Archie?"

A wide grin. "It's about time you found your way here."

"The one and only," he returned playfully. Yep, it was good ol' Archie. Not a lot seemed to phase the man, and he was found in a cheerful mood often, like the one he was in now.

"I don't even know where here is, but I have to agree with you. Man, this place looks fascinating." Yes, geek alert. At least he wasn't freaking out or anything.

"That's what you think," KARR grumbled from his parking spot nearby. "You've chosen the worst day of the year to come here, aside from Halloween." He sounded rather cranky, and his scanner's rapid speed matched the tone.

Huh. A car. Was talking.

Wait a minute. Why did the car look so familiar? Archie eyed the car, apparently forgetting for the moment that cars, you know, weren't supposed to talk. He could be forgetful like that. That, or he'd watched too much science fiction in his life to be truly surprised.

"Have I met you before?" Yeah, the newcomer was asking if he'd met a car anywhere. Go figure.

"Seeing how I don't remember you, I doubt it. And it's not as if I've had any damage to my memory lately, either."

His scanner settled down slightly after a moment, although it still remained bright. "Who are you, exactly?"

Hmm. That voice and exterior seemed familiar, though, but Archie couldn't quite place it...

Yeah, you would think he wouold stop at the point that he's considering where he's seen a talking care before. Seriously.

"I'm Archie Johnson." Uh, what was he supposed to do? They obviously couldn't shake hands. "I'd shake hands with you, but I'm not sure how that works, so." At least he was honest about it.
