There is an Ed, in the bar, sitting in a booth. He seems a bit jumpy tonight, and also like he's keeping an eye out for someone - but whoever he's looking for, he probaly doesn't want to see them. Because every so often, he'll duck under the table. Hiding from someone? Maybe, but it's always false alarms ( Read more... )

At some point, when he pops back up from under the table, there is a man in a ragged black coat sitting across from him, frowning.

"You are waiting for a nuclear winter, perhaps?"

NAUGH. Ed nearly jumps again, because he did not expect to see someone sitting across from him. But he somehow gains his composure.

"Nuclear winter?" He looks quite blank.

"It is like the Ice Age, I think. Only with more glowing."

He nods, solemn.

"...sounds pretty."

Yeah, Ed really doesn't know what he's talking about.

Steph, right now, cares for anything that'll take her out of herself. And her little brother in trouble is a grand excuse.

The next time he ducks under the table, he finds himself with company. (How did she get there? She's a bat! Good at sneaky!)

Did she mean to make him squeak? Because she managed it.

" -- Hi!" He wasn't surprised. Nope. Not at all.

She always means to make him squeak.

...that was unintentionally obscene, huh.

"What's going on?" she demands, arms folded. She bears a slightly worrying resemblance to Batman when she looks this stern. Probably because he taught her that pose, of course, but there's no harm in playing it up, right?

"Nothing's going on," Ed says, a bit defensively. You could almost believe him -- right? Right?

"Are you alright, Edward Elric?"

-- hello, Lust.

"I'm perfectly fine," he says, though it's pretty much an automatic reaction there.

"I ... see. Have you come to a decision yet?"

And they were back to this. They always got back to this, eventually, didn't they?

"It's hard to trust you," he informs her, quietly.

And, there is one shrunken detective watching him, just idly sipping at a glass of juice and swinging his feet idly.

The blond looked like he was ready to dash at the sight of a fly, as far as he could tell...Maybe he should test that theory at some point...

And the thing is, if someone's watched long enough, they're gonna get a weird feeling. So after a bit, Ed spots the guy watching him.

And gives him a very odd look.

He looks about six. So, when hes looked at, Conan just smiles and leans forward in his seat a bit, sipping more at his juice. It's hard for someone to be paranoid about a kid, right? Leaning back, Conan smiles, just continuing to kick his feet. "You look like you're looking for someone..." he sayys rather plainly to the (gasp!)taller boy.

Someone who's -shorter- than him. Yeah, that gains Conan a few points right away. "More like avoiding someone," Ed admits, and grins slightly. "It's pretty easy, though it probably looks weird."
