"Oh, my achin' frickin' head." Mugen drags himself up from where he passed out, puffy purple bags under his eyes, the texture of the floor imprinted into the side of his face. He has a headache the size of Ryuukyuu and his mouth feels like it's been stuffed with dead leaves for a couple years ( Read more... )

Stella glances over at the man who just came up next to her. She's just been sitting at the Bar, people watching as usual. Not waiting for anyone in particular, really. "Are... you alright?" She's more than willing to help him over to the Infimarary if he needs to go, because she wasn't waiting for anyone. Not at all.

"Huh? Who the hell are you?" He scratches his head: he sure doesn't remember her from before. Doesn't mean they haven't met, though, because he can't remember shit.

The tea's good, but he drinks it half-heartedly. "Where the fuck are we? I got no ide..." Finally, his eyes go to the window.

In a flash he's standing, katana drawn. "What the hell is that? out there? I ain't never seen a sky like that."

Stella jumps in her chair as the katana is drawn. Really, not the reaction she was expecting, and it's quite startled her. Though, if he's asking where he is and acting as if he's ever seen the window before, then he must be new. She supposes that excuses a bit of surprise. "It's.." She tries to think of a way to calmly explain. "You're in a bar called Milliways. It's at the end of the universe. It's complicated, but people from different worlds, realities and times come here sometimes." She tries to offer a reassuring smile. "It's a nice place here. Odd sometimes, but nice."

"The end of the frickin' universe? Shit!" His eyes narrow.

Everything else she says is completely lost on him: all her words about different worlds, realities, times. He's a pretty simple guy, really, and he can only think about one impossible thing before breakfast each day.

He looks around a bit wildly, his sword still drawn. "You seen a tall guy with dark hair and glasses, two swords, dressed all samurai?"

Jin, very rested, sits down beside him.

"I see you're awake."

He gets a cup of his own from the bar and quietly helps himself to some of the tea.

Rubbing his eyes, he drags his fingers down his face.

"Where the hell you been?"

That's twice now Jin's taken his drink away. "Try that shit one more time stealing my food and I'll frickin' kill ya. Lucky for you I don't exactly feel like it right now."

His stomach rumbles, a loud protest, and he remembers he was supposed to try to find out something about the place. But he has no regrets about the fact the only thing he learned is that some drink called At-something is pretty damn strong, and a lot of the chicks here are real bitches.

"You find out where we are?"

Mugen is in no condition to do much.

Unperturbed, Jin drinks.

"I've been told it's the end of the universe," he says, lowering his cup, "and that people from many times and places find their way here."

Eyes tired, ass dragging, Mugen watches Jin drink his tea.

His tea.

Screw it. I don't give a rat's ass.

"End of the universe. I ain't no philosopher, but I ain't never thought the universe had an end. Supposed to go on forever, ain't it?"

It's just something he heard. Whether or not it's true doesn't affect him one way or the other.

"I'm real hungry."
