There's a dry voice from a booth to one side. Narcissa will be able to see a dark, young-looking man with long hair, polishing a large bow with a cigarette dangling from his lips.
'It doesn't change if you just stare at it. Swearing doesn't help either.'
The girl eyes her in return. If one notes such a thing, her eyes are far older than her apparent twenty-some years should account for.
"Yes. Both chronologically and geographically, though the latter term doesn't quite apply in this case." She gestures towards the observation window. "You're welcome to consider that a hoax, if you'd like. It's not, but some people seem to find deluding themselves more comfortable than trying to figure this place out."
Loki nods. "Basically, this is a nexus where all the worlds connect. A sort of ur-Yggdrasil. People from various worlds and lands and times are brought here by some mysterious agency, proof even against the gods. Some can choose when they enter, some can choose when they leave, some can't on either." He pauses. "Can you see the door behind you still?"
She nods as he speaks, taking it all in. Whether she believes him is something else altogether. Finally, she turns around and stares at the wall where the door should be.

"Milliways? Where, exactly, would this be? I assume I have been somehow transported here?" She hadn't Apparated, she knew that much.

"Milliways is the restaurant at the universe. And yes, the door pulls patrons in from all over. It's just a part of what this place is about."

"It generally doesn't." Her voice is shaky, yet the words are clipped. "What manner of place is this?"

Her next question is hesitant. She really should not be asking questions of a child. "End of the universe?"
