Enzo's eye is first caught by the stack of books-because that is a pretty big stack-but it keeps sliding back to the young woman reading them. She looks like a User at first, but certain details are... off. Or rather, not off when they usually are.

Pardon his staring.

Quorra looks up from her current book (Things Fall Apart), and notices that she's being watched. She smiles shyly, and then drops her eyes back down to the table, looking for her drink.

[a1enzo]

That's...

"That's an energy drink," he blurts.

[isodynamic]

"Is that what it's called? I just asked the Bar if she had anything I could ingest, and this is what she gave me."

[a1enzo]

"Yeah, but, I mean... it's energy. Not matter."

It is, right? Right?

[isodynamic]

"From what I've been learning, the two are related." Then her eyes light up when she makes the connection. "You're not a User, are you? You're a program! That's why you're asking me about this, right?"

[a1enzo]

"And so are you." It's half a question; his voice is trembling slightly.

[isodynamic]

"Naturally," she says with a smirk. "My name's Quorra."

[a1enzo]

"Enzo. Enzo Matrix." He takes a deep breath. "You are," he informs her, "the first sprite I've seen here who wasn't from Mainframe."

[isodynamic]

"Really? The place I come from is called The Grid, and there are thousands of programs there. I wonder if some of them may have been here, just not at the same time as you."

[a1enzo]

"It's always possible," he admits. "But then they didn't meet anyone who knows me either. I'd have heard." Another deep breath while he tries to get a handle on this. "You don't look like any sprite I've ever seen."

[isodynamic]

"Nor do you," Quorra admits. "But I wasn't going to say anything." She quirks a smile to let him know she's teasing. "You want to sit down?"

[a1enzo]

"I think I'd better." He does so. "So... everyone from the Grid is that... human-looking?"

[isodynamic]

"Not everyone, but it's the most prevalent configuration, yes."

[a1enzo]

"Wow. I think you must be from a different 'verse. I live in the Supercomputer now, I know sprites from all over the 'Net, and no one's that high-res."

[isodynamic]

"We're on an isolated system now, just for the purpose of existing and evolving. So, since we don't have to spare run time for outside functions, everything can be devoted to the programs themselves. Some of the older programs -- the ones that came from the old system, like Tron -- aren't as... what did you call it? High-res. And, of course, there's still the bits."
