Ako is more worried about what Sarah-san has in the jar after the exploding tribbles last time.

"That doesn't sound like much of a defence," says Ako, "Unless you could control your own mind the whole time. That might work."

"But how would you go about doing that?"

Endless loop of commands to the brain. Brain, please tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell my brain to tell ... my brain to tell my brain to tell my body to do... uhhhh... I forgot. Sorry, brain, for bothering you.

One could of course be unusually strong-willed/stubborn.

That last option is very shonen drat it.

"I don't know," admits Ako, "It just seems that if you're going to have something mind controlling you for safety, it's probably best if it's actually yourself."

"Hmmm, maybe...," she thinks, "maybe something that will make it seem like something else is in control, but it is you."

Someday she will come up with something that will just that. Well maybe not her. A certain annoying CommOrb hacker will come up with it. Maybe with a certain slayer master's help. Maybe not.

But right now, she is having trouble thinking up a solution to this problem.

Ako scratches her head.

"Like putting up a sign that says you're already mind controlled?"

These aren't the minions you're looking for. Move along!

"That's one way of putting it."

She gets a wicked grin and she lifts the jar to her eyes.

"Maybe if I grind these three up I can make such a sign."

"Noooooo"
"Save us Ako-san!!!"
"HAHAHA! IT WILL NEVER WORK! MOTHER WHAT A CORPSE SMELLS LIKE."

"MOTHER?!?!" Sarah's eyes are ablaze.

...
Two of the slugs turn toward the third. "You are such an idiot."

Ako looks rather pale at that.

"Ugh," she says, "Grinding them up is kind of extreme isn't it Sarah-san?"

Mahey'sh is alive. MAHEY'SH IS ALIVE.

Grinding them up will get NOTHING done.

"They are getting to you. I have to leave." She drains the rest of her beer, and gathers up her notes, the jar, and the pie.

"For your own safety, of course," she adds as an afterthought.

The slugs are already dead, somehow.

And Ako just stays, sick to her stomach.

And thinking.
