This is bugging me.  (I am re-watching the first movie, ja) and I noticed this in the second movie as well.  What is the tattoo on Lisbeth's left forearm?  It appears to have a tail of some sort, or a robe.  I've done a bit of a flip through the first book to see if they mention it but I haven't found it.  Nor have I found a clear picture of it

i haven't watched the movies so i could be all wrong, but i'm fairly sure it says somewhere in the first book that she has a lizzard tattooed somewhere? does this thing look like a lizzard? ;)

It has something of a tail, perhaps a snake or something. I know in book two she has a lizard in her room!

alright, i looked it up. first book, page 497:

"he counted her tattoos. besides the dragon on her back and the wasp on her neck, she had a sling around her ankle, another sling around the biceps of her left arm, a chinese sign on the hip and a rose across the calf."

if they gave her a different tattoo in the movie, it's simply artistic freedom, it seems. i don't remember her getting any more tattoos later on. the last one she got was after the bjurman-case and she had the wasp remedied later on. that's about all i remember.

I have no idea! I have still only seen the first movie, though, so I'll try and pay attention when I finally watch the second one.

The second movie is pretty fantastic, I'm a big fan of the Swedish movies since they do a nice job of using the choice parts of the books and ignoring the fat. Check it out when she's visiting her old guardian, this is the best I could come up with.

Hmmm. I have no idea what that could be. A seahorse?

I don't remember anything being mentioned about her having a tattoo there in the book, but....maybe they just put one there so we would all know she has many tattoos. The audience is more likely to see it on her arm than on her hip.
