Glad you like the idea of the Eight as a youngling as you put it (like that term a lot!). Yeah, she doesn't make a lot of sense to me, and this helped me understand her a bit. Also, it made more sense to me that cowardly Gaius would have the guts to approach her if the other Cylons didn't take her all that seriously.
Yeah, it is chilling, isn't it? I think it's so chilling because he thinks he's helping. And I can actually see why he thinks is; he sees it on such a simplistic level: the Eight is going to get a bunch of people on Felix's list killed, and by coming up with this idea, he's saving some people. Not to mention, (and he's really stretching things here) he believes that once Felix finds out, the guy will be comforted to know that at least his names got some people out, and then he can focus on the people he saved, not the ones he got killed. Because that's exactly how Gaius would think about it. I think this plan he's hatched to save Felix's soul tells us more about Gaius than Felix, and is a testament to how much Gaius
