This is all azarias's fault. Actually, Mary Anne canonically doesn't like pink! Her favorite colors are yellow and navy blue. (Which are also Ann M. Martin's favorite colors. Hmmmm.)

Well, that settles that. Kristy and Dawn are still my favorite of my choices, but Mary Anne has moved up to next. (I can only assume the pink thing was because her personality was such that in a different series, her favorite color would totally have been pink.)

I defy you to tell me it wouldn't work! Sadly, I can't remember enough to try and come up with villains and plots. I know I've got a couple BSC volumes I picked up on a whim for a quarter a pop somewhere, but I'm not sure I want to do that to myself.

How sad is it that I remember that Mallory had chicken pox, not mono? I'm am such a source of useless knowledge.

No, she definitely had mono. It took her out of commission for awhile. I think she might have had chicken pox in the earlier books (or maybe one of the Super Specials? I think the Pike Family with chicken pox would probably qualify for that) and the mono came later, like around the 60s-70s.
