Okay, yeah, I definitely need to throw an edit in there about how my problem isn't the pairing, it's what the FUCK kind of characterization are you rolling with that makes "Hot Yakuza/Sulky Minion Banter" seem like a good pairing comm name to you? That's completely blown on both sides.

Of course, I also have an issue with how snubbed Molly and Murphy--two of the most important people in Harry's life--generally are in these fics, but that's kind of par for the course in slash, and while that's not good it's not something the fandom stands out on by any means. :/

Yeah... I'm in the comm and a fan of the pairing, but the yakuza thing bothers me too. Like, as far as I can tell, the people who created the community (one of whom is bookshop, shockingly) were into anime at the time? So CLEARLY that meant anime tropes/characterization had to be invoked. OF COURSE. Which is how a MOB DUDE FROM CHICAGO became YAKUZA.

Not even getting into calling Harry a minion. I'm pretty sure he's blown up buildings for less.

I'm pretty sure she's moved on. She was in Nero Wolfe fandom for a while, and someone quoted me something she said about those books that made me decide never to go near her journal ever ever again, so I have no idea what she's doing now. With luck, it's no longer something I care about.
