In an island full of scientists and soldiers there are inevitably going to be those who take the easy way out. When the behavioural conditioning go-rounds with the stock in 4B, 4C, and the kennels are out of the way for the day, those responsible for the beasts within cannot always be expected to muster the enthusiasm to monitor their charges

It's not as though the team's not prepared for events of interest. The most common weapons are submachine guns. Of course, some of the boys are partial to shotguns. Washington himself has always preferred the rifle. There's also a grenade launcher or two stashed in a locker, but those aren't the first things any of the men reach for.
Washington's passing through when he sees Farrel moving. He glances at the lights, turns, and signals through the door. There's little conversation as, in the rooms around him, the team draws together.
He indicates two of his men and starts for the security room as they move away. He'll go have a look at the big picture. It's most likely the ape was nipped by a rat and is setting off the alarm in a fit of annoyance. But there's a possibility there's something there.
While he's keying in his security code, two men are nearing the archive room. One covers the other as he reaches for the door.

Camera two is at the bottom of the steps leading into the facility. Everything looks perfectly calm, perfectly quiet-
-is that a flicker rolling across the screen every five seconds?

He gets bad news from Galloway.
All right. There's one confirmed spy, possible support outside. He stares at the monitor for a few seconds more, then realizes where he's seen that angle before. It's what you get when you prop up a mirror, careful not to reflect the camera.
The first order of business is to get the noncoms out of the way. The second is to get the facility locked down, sweep the outside for his suppport and eliminate them, and then question the prisoner.
Washington uses his key on a panel, pops it, and punches the red button. That's going to get some attention.

Of course, there's generators and power rooms and computing machinery inside the building. Multi-layer complexes that deal in large animal research are bound to have elevators, and there's the climate control system. Plenty of stuff to wreck there, too. Assuming they get past the soldiery, of course.

He's more than prepared to start breaking as soon as he sees breakables.

Quietly, mildly, with a certain sense of dry humor,
"Can any of the rest of you see in the dark?"
Because confusion and illusion are what he's best of all at.

Visible, in fact, to the furiously screaming ospreys clawing their way up the sky just at the moment. They're not headed for the complex directly yet- busy squabbling with each other- but they'll be there soon, and by the look of things they've got belly cameras too.

Well, no, that's not true. He can be tracked, assuming magic hasn't covered his trail- and assuming gas masks don't suddenly come into play.

*Andrew's got his tranq gun out, and his free hand is holding something small that's attached to a loop of black cord hanging around his neck.*

-no, wait, they're open again. "He's been here," he mutters, jerking his chin towards the door and the staircase. "Headed downwards and through, but there's a lot of people on the other side of that door."

Some of the Black Ops men have the authority to throw open the cages on the red level, after all.

Blue eyes scan the area as they aproach the entrance. So far, everything seems relatively quiet, but they all know how quickly that can change. Archie thinks it's rather a shame that he never learned more about espionage...

Svava already has her sword out in her right hand, left up and ready to trace the runes in the air for spell work. She has never had to do stealth work- Svava just keeps her steps as quiet as possible, her movements steady.
