Title: Chinen has been deceived
Pairing: Morimoto Ryutarou/Chinen Yuuri
Summary: Chinen has been deceived; he was not going to be bested by a mere dog.

It was cold outside; windows were frosted over with a translucent glint, floors carpetted with a dirty layer of slush, and not a single person roamed the streets. Most stayed home, warming their icy fingertips, their blushed cheeks, and numbed toes. Some for the reasons of the mentioned physical warmth, others for the reasons of the mental warmth present in sweethearts on this lover's day.

Chinen stomped his feet over the floor mat as Ryutarou hung both his coat on the rack. "Thanks for coming over," Ryutarou said awkwardly before disappearing down the hall and into the living-room. Chinen pouted, "Ryutarou~ Don't leave me," he exclaimed, slipping out of his boots and down the hallway through slightly wet socks.

"Ahh, sorry," Ryutarou mumbled behind the counter, donning a pale pink apron with Hello Kitty printed on the stomach pouch. With merely a questioning raise of his eyebrow, Ryutarou glared with flushed cheeks. "Shut up, my mother's the only one who owns an apron in the house!" With a chuckle, Chinen nodded and flopped himself onto the couch.

"Where's Shintarou?" Chinen asked, digging for the tv remote through the mess scattered across the coffee table. "Over at Mai's," Ryutarou answered. "Natsune? Don't tell me she has a boyfriend already," he said with disbelief dripping in his voice.

Ryutarou made a face as Chinen made a victory cry at the discovery of the Morimoto family's tv remote. "Of course not! I'll beat up all those who dare to get near her!" Chinen laughed wholeheartedly, turning on the tv and casually surfing through the channels.

"That's some sister-complex you have there Ryutarou," he commented, eyeing Chii as the dog entered the living-room. "Why hello there," Chinen said, waving at the dog as this was his first time meeting him. "Not only me! Shintarou too, and Tou-san too."

Chinen scoffed, particually hearing the blush that graced Ryutarou's facial features, "Sure~" Immediately afterward, he frowned; Chii just snapped his head the other way, and strolled into the kitchen without a second look at his namesake. Well, at least Chinen would like to believe he was the dog's namesake.

Chinen ignored the chattering tv as he watched the golden dog stroll to his owner, pawing circles around Ryutarou's legs before comfortly lying down wrapped around them. Chinen narrowed his eyes, did that dog just smirk at me? Yes ladies and gentlemen reading, Chinen Yuuri is now convinced a dog just smirked at him.

Chinen stood up as Ryutarou looked under his arms, trying to step out of Chii without tripping and stabbing himself with the knife. Perhaps it would be smarter to put said knife down first. Before Ryutarou could move, hands snaked around his waist as a breath was breathed across his neck. Instantly frozen, Chii lazily peeked open an eye, trying to hide his curiosity.

"C-chinen?" Ryutarou stuttered out in surprise, palming the knife against the chopping board immediately as a shiver ran down his spine. "I'm not going to be bested by a dog," Chinen growled into Ryutarou's ear while on tiptoes. "What are you-" Ryutarou started, a small frown tugging at his lips at the mention of Chii, but was cut off.

Chinen pressed his lips against Ryutarou's, a feat not meant to be described, for a brief moment before Chinen pulled apart. Back on his heels, he peered down at the dog and smirked. "Beat that," he said with confidence in his voice. Chii growled before it whimpered; it stood and exited out of the kitchen, it knew when it wasn't wanted.

Chinen turned to Ryutarou with a triumphant grin met up with an annoyed look spread across Ryutarou's face. "You serious?" Chinen feint hurt; "Are you accusing me of something?"

Ryutarou tossed his head and pulled Chinen's arms off his waist, "You just kissed me to prove something to a dog," as if stressing the fact that Chinen just competed with an animal would trigger something in the elder's head. Chinen merely smiled, as though it would make everything better.

"So, what are you doing in the kitchens anyways?" he asked, patting Ryutarou's shoulder and peering over his hands.

"Making chocolate," Ryutarou grumbled, clearly irritated at the immediate change of topics. Hearts virtually formed in his eyes, "for me~?" he asked in a singsong voice.

Ryutarou scoffed, "Psh, yeah right. It's for Chii."

Chinen paused, his mind processing the information, "what?" he asked dumbly. Real smart.

"It's for Chii, my dog."

Their first Valentine's Day together, neither had ask the other to be their valentines. Ryutarou asks Chinen over, and Chinen thought Ryutarou would pop the question. But now, now Ryutarou claims to be making chocolate for his dog? "What?" Chinen repeated himself.
