I agree. Asking them casually doesn't make you accusing them or look as if you are trying to guilt trip them.

I wouldn't get involved hun. Let him deal with them when he gets back. After all, you don't want them feeling bad and writing him because they were forced to - if they're true friends/family they'll come around. If not, HE should confront them.

My boyfriend's friends from our home town didn't even speak to him while he was deployed. Didn't respond to his myspace messages or even answer the phone when he called. The ONLY time they ever want to see him is when he is home and they know he is out on a date with me. :/ and we maybe go on a date once if at all when he comes home.

But I would say something to them about what friendship really means.

I just mentioned it to a few of his friends. Like "Hey, brandon has been down a little lately and I know it would make him really happy to get a couple letters from you guys"

I wasn't mean about it (even though I was frustrated)and they ended up sending him a few things.
