I don't know anything about this, but maybe at the very least one of those travel micro fiber bead pillow things? They seem fairly easy to clean and he may be able to just shove it in a bag...but like I said, I am a military noob and have no idea what I'm talking about.

As for Stop Loss, I still haven't decided whether I want to try to watch this movie or not. The idea of deployment in and of itself is still kind of a sore spot for me...so maybe I'll wait for it on DVD.

Haha, that conversation was cute!

One thing about stoploss I don't like though - what the movie is calling stoploss, according to my husband, isn't even stoploss at all. He got stoplossed, and he said that it's where you're scheduled to ETS on a certain day, but they keep you in after that point so you can deploy. That's why he's going on this tour, he was supposed to get out this year.

I don't think I'm going to watch that movie, just that fact alone is going to annoy me enough. And the fact that it pretty much glorifies desertion.

Isn't that what the movie's about? Being kept in past your exit date for deployment?

That is EXACTLY what the movie is about.

the guy who created the movie did get stoplossed in real life. I haven't seen it yet, but if he lived it, i'm sure he can't be too too wrong.

I sent my husband a mattress pad and a new pillow while he was in Iraq, so i see no reason why you wouldn't be able to send him one. But I would stick with a nice yet inexpensive one in case he has to ditch it or it gets dirty.

Yeh you can send a pillow. Like the other girls said though I wouldnt go out and buy a 100 dollar memory foam pillow or anything fancy like that. You may even want to take a pillow case you and sleep or lay on it with wet hair for a while , seal it in a ziplock bag and send it to him with the pillow.

You can also get transfer paper that works in your printer so that you can add a photo to the pillow case. You can also launder the pillowcase in your shampoo. Just be sure to seal it in a ziplock bag so the scent will stay!
