Oh man, my boyfriend leaves in a little over an hour. I don't know why "see you later" has been so hard! It's only boot camp >< I'm not able to see him off today but I think that would be harder to do anyways. I did get to spend Friday - Saturday with him though ..and I bawled like a baby. I hope it's not just me >< Ah well, I just keep reminding ( Read more... )

What branch is your boyfriend in? My husband is at Navy boot camp right now, and I was told only to send letters, cards and pictures. Basically only what you can fit in an envelope. The first I sent him was a manilla sized envelope just because it contained letters I had written him for the first week or so he was gone until I finally got his address. In that I did include a few stamped envelopes for him to use until he got a chance to go to the Exchange, because I didn't know what would be issued to them.

You might want to check specifically with someone who has been through boot camp with their man from the specific branch he's in.. I don't know if the Army's restrictions would be different than Navy.

Marine Corps :]
Thanks for the info! I looked on Parris Island's site, and they don't say you can't send packages, they just list items you cannot send. I don't think it would be a good idea to send big elaborate mushy packages anyways like the other girls said haha >

Yeah, my boyfriend went through Navy basic and they made it fairly clear that anything bigger than a card wouldn't be acceptable. I was even nervous sending a bigger-sized card with a pink envelope, fearing he'd get made fun of. :P

When does your husband graduate?

aw that is so sweet :} yeahh. i wasn't expecting to lose it that much. i don't think either of us cries much, and lets anyone see us cry when we do! it was weird haha, we were both so emotional.

oorah! :) i don't have much advice for boot, my guy and i weren't together at the time, but i do know that what these ladies say is absolutely true. they WILL be forced to eat food in front of everyone, mushy stuff WILL guarantee him getting picked on (picked on is an understatement), and just keep it simple with necessary items. letters are always always welcome.
