[6/7] Streets of Milieux

After her small chat with Principal Blackadder, Washu had shifted forms back to her small petite childlike form again. Did she really need to walk back to her apartment? Of course not but she wasn't going to meet anyone by teleporting everywhere. So she found herself strolling down the street, holding up an umbrella as the squid fell from the sky.

Mia had gone out for a smoke and a walk, but she didn't get very far. Sucking on her cigarette and letting out the occasional puff, she'd look down at the lump of squid in front of her as she leaned on a tree. More plopping down around her, but she was interested in this one, waiting for it to do something.

She didn't pay attention to the other squids, but the promise of a less nautical lifeform nearing was a bit more interesting. With a sighing escape of more smoke, she lifted her chin at Washu as she neared. "Hey." She switched her cigarette to her other hand, dashed a few ashes onto the sidewalk, leaned her shoulder on a tree.

Washu stopped to regard the woman with a smile. "Well hello. Got caught in the..uh rain?" she asked, looking up at the squids still falling occasionally. Truly this place was already providing entertainment for her.

Grinning, Mia let out a small laugh. "I've heard of it raining cats and dogs, but this?" She made a small gesture toward the current squid of interest. Her head shook slightly as she went to take another drag. "This..." Pointed at the squid, "is something."

"Yeah, I have a feeling that things like this may be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Milieux," Washu said chuckling. "I'm Professor Washu Habuki," she introduced extending a hand to the other woman.

Zim was delighted. Not only had he remembered to bathe in paste this morning but there were squid monsters falling from the sky and causing the humans extreme discomfort. He stood in a random doorway cackling to himself.

Washu stopped short when she noticed the little green guy standing in a doorway. And her mun is totally trying not to laugh at the mental image of these two plotting. A broad smile crossed Washu's face at the obvious disguise that he was wearing but she said nothing of it.

"Well hello there!" she said brightly! "Enjoying the day?"

OH GOD IT MUST HAPPEN. He responded the question in typical overdramatic fashion before even checking to see who was doing the asking. "Horrible tentacled monsters fall from the sky! Clearly fate smiles on Zim's impending reign of DOOM!"

Pippi felt a little odd...

In theory, she'd been kidnapped. But she'd, well, napped through it.

She should probably be upset, but she wasn't. Which was actually par for the course for Pippi.

So she went for a ride on Old Man.

Washu noticed the girl on the horse and immediately recognized her from the news. "Oh hey, weren't you spirited away by little blue guys earlier in the week?" Washu asked her expression amused.

She was actually rather hoping to capture one of those little blue guys and run a batch of test on it.

"That is who I am." Pippi nodded. "But I'm back now. I'm Pippi, Pippi Longstocking. But if you want to stick with 'girl who was spirited away by little blue men' I guess that's okay too."

Washu laughed. She liked this girl already. It was always refreshing to meet folks who didn't take themselves too seriously.

"Nice to meet you, Pippi. I'm Professor Washu Habuki," Washu said beaming.
