Mary had gotten a notice that she'd be getting a roommate this week. On one hand, having a roommate would be cool and pleasantly normal, but on the other, she kind of liked her privacy and had been forced to do some quick cleaning because she'd allowed her stuff to sprawl over the entire room. She did not, however, hide her Davy Jones or Shaun Cassidy posters. What? She was allowed to be a girl sometimes.
Cleaning accomplished, she wandered out on to the front porch. Spying the girl pouting there, she said, "You must be Dawn." If the girl was from modern times, apparently they still named their kids with hippy names in the 21st century.
"My name's Mary," Mary said, giving her a smile. "I got a notice that I would be getting a new roommate this week, and that her name was Dawn Summers. I was just guessing that was you."
Sarah was on her way back to the Main Dorm after an afternoon jog. Or, in reality, a search of town to make sure there weren't any suspicious activities.
"You look a little lost," she said to the pouting girl.
"Oh, you must be the new student," Sarah said, remembering she had been informed there would be a new girl. "I'm Sarah, the dorm parent here. I can help you with some of those if you'd like."
"The bags. If you were only passing town, you'd probably be over at the motel instead of here at the dorms," said Kit with a smirk. "Did you need an extra set of hands?"
