After a stop by the clinic to check on Isabel, Veronica brought Lilly to the park.

Lilly, rather more subdued than usual, headed for the swings. Veronica waved to the unfamiliar man. "Hello," she greeted. "New in town?"

John glances up from his newspaper, offering a smile. "Yes I am," he replies, folding his newspaper. He offers a hand. "The name's John Locke."

Veronica shakes the offered hand. "Veronica Mars. That's my daughter, Lilly. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet both of you." He waves at Lilly. "How old is she?"
