It was really hot and Jo didn't feel much like being cooped up in her apartment all day. So she put on shorts and a tank top and grabbed a towel and headed down to the lake. One of these days she was going to have to invest in a bathing suit. But today she was content enough to lay back and fall asleep in the sun.

Bobby and Rumsfeld didn't play frisbee.

They played "hubcap".

Unfortunately, Bobby was still adjusting to the whole "I'm suddenly fifteen again" and misjudged the distance and curve on his latest throw -- and it was headed straight for Jo's head, with Rumsfeld in hot pursuit.

"Aw hell," Bobby muttered. "HEADS!"

"Whoa!" Jo managed to avoid getting hit with the hubcab. Avoiding getting run over by Rumsfeld was a different matter entirely. So much for falling asleep in the sun.

"Rumsfeld, DOWN!" Bobby yelled as he jogged forward. Rumsfeld blithely ignored him -- and the hubcap -- choosing instead to pounce at Jo in doggie delight. Bobby sighed and swiped at his forehead. "Hell. Sorry 'bout that, Jo."

"It's fine. Ugh, dog breath," Jo ducked her head down to avoid getting licked. "Almost getting decapitated by a hubcap is the most excitement I've had in a while."

And a half-naked (wearing swim trunks, mind. Not, say, a silver banana hammock with a little 'x' on it, unlike some Marvel Swimsuit Specials would depict) Nathan Summers swam out of the water and up onto the shore.

"Nice day, isn't it?" he greeted.

Whoa. That was a weird looking dude. Not that Jo was staring. Well, if she was it could easily be mistaken for checking him out. Not that would be a bad thing.

"It is a nice day," she said. "Is the water warm?"

Well, it would be a bad thing if Domino was around. Possibly.

"Water's fine," Nate said, rustling his hair to get the water out. "How's the sun?"

"Hot. Really hot. But it's better than staying inside," she said. "I don't think we've met. I'm Jo Harvelle."
