Perfectly normal lake on a perfectly normal day.

Please ignore the fowl stench given off by the sludgy green water that is bubbling and smoking in places... It's, um, alge... Yeah, yeah that's the ticket.

Alge.

The ducks have all moved to a medium sized fountain in another part of the park.

Tim felt that it was probably only a matter of time before something invasion like happened in this town. That was why he was pantomiming riding a horse, his sword/wand sheathed at his belt, and his trusty servant Hobson pantomiming behind him, with coconuts.

Tim is now the roaming warrior prince looking for beasts to defeat and damsels to rescue.

Yeah, Tosh wasn't buying the algae idea. In fact, she was wondering if a meteor maybe had crashed landed in the pond.

Could be she was venturing just a little closer than was strictly wise.

Foamy sludge lapped gently against the shore of the lake. The smell of rotten eggs near the water was very strong and the water rippled slightly.

Possibly a catfish? Those things can live in anything.

Tosh's mind went straight to alien, of course. And from there to 'need to check it out', with a stop over at 'maybe I can get a sample'.

Let's see, water bottle in the pocket of her bag, that should do it. Just creep up to the edge of the pond, scoop up some of that nasty sludgy stuff...
