The medicine seller was hardly much of an early riser and that would be why the elaborately garbed man in question didn't make an appearance in the shop until half past noon. He paused near the foot of the stairs when he heard the giggling. Possibly he should have just stayed in bed.

Perhaps he should have, but it was too late now. Souji had spotted him. "Hello, Kusuriuri-san! I thought you were never going to get up!"
The samurai was waving enthusiastically at him, and the sleeve of his kimono caused enough of a breeze to send scribbled, brightly colored drawings fluttering around the counter.
