Jack was crawling the walls. Had been crawling the walls most of the night and seriously Ianto was ready to beat him about the head with a rubber mallet. Instead, recognizing his boss's restlessness, the young Welshman had suggested a game of basketball ( Read more... )

Marie walked past the park on her patrol and stopped to watch the... unique basketball game that was going on.

She chuckled at the antics of Jack and his friend.

Jack had managed to retrieve the ball and was currenly trying to dribble it around Ianto.

Ianto made a couple attempts at a legal block and then gave up and with a smile stepped forward and headbutted Jack squarely in the face, sending the older man reeling back. Grabbing the ball, the young Welshman neatly dodged around his boss and headed back down the park towards his own basket.

Rubbing at a now bloody nose, Jack was quick in pursuit though he paused when he saw Marie and shouted.

"Hold up, Ianto!" And with a warm smile on his face, he jogged over towards her.

"Hey there, Beautiful!"

"Hi," Marie replied, grinning back. "You look like you're having fun."

"We are," Jack agreed with a twinkle in his eyes that attested to the fact that he was definitely enjoying the rough tussel.

Since he didn't want to freak her out by kissing her and leaving blood on her face, Jack reached out instead and gently tucked a bit of silky hair back behind her ear.

"How are you doing?"

Two men stood at the edge of the park, watching the game. With a keen interest. One, as if sizing up an opponent.

The other, as if sizing up a rack of lamb.

Bela was attempting to familiarize herself with the town.

"Well," she said, at full volume though it was clearly the sort of thing one ought to be mumbling to one's self (Bela, though, did not mumble). "There goes my hopes that this town would be civilized. . . ." She examined Jack's bare chest and Ianto's tshirt clad one. "Though I admit, at least the view is pleasant."

Jack had the basketball in his hand, having just beaned Ianto in the back of the head to aquire it and he wheeled towards the voice and smiled rakishly.

"We do attempt to be pretty in our violence around here. Something of a town ordienance."

He winked.

"Now that is good to hear," Bela cocked on hip to the side and rested her hand on it, tilting her head to better admire the show. "One can only hope that the town council has had similar wisdom in policing one's play time."

Jack arched an eyebrow and smirked.

"Have to disagree with you there, play time should never be policed."

Tossing the ball from hand to hand, Jack gave her a quick, assessing look.

"New to Milieux?"

*SLAM*

Uh-oh.

Did that ball just hit the TARDIS?

Old Man Doctor wouldn't like that.

Actually that would have been Jack's body as Ianto hip flipped him into the blue police box.

Jack was now looking a bit like an upside down bug, waiting for the ringing to stop in his ears.

"That better not have chipped the paint!" a voice from inside shouted.

It sounded like it hadn't had a cup of tea yet.

"Did more damage to my head!" Jack yelled back in a cheerful voice as he scrambled to his feet and dashes off to tackle Ianto.

Now, Tim was by no means a sports expert, but he was reasonably sure a Ref would be having a seizure by now.

"Is that calvinball?" he asked dredging up a memory from his youth.
