The Park; Thursday, just after midnight

X-23 had arrived only a few days ago, but she had ran out of money days before that. She did not understand the value of money before, but now she did; it meant food and shelter and comfort. She never cared much for any of them, but the lack of them was starting to take its toll

Nate was still on his epic journey to track down Aziraphale.

Unfortunately for Nate, he was looking for him in all the wrong places.

That's how he ended up spotting X-23 in the park, and was puzzled enough to walk up to her, slowly.

"Hey... you okay?" he asked.

Surprised, X-23 quickly stood up and went into a battle stance. She must have been very distracted to not hear him approach until he spoke. She should never let down her guard like that again. Now noticing the man's scent, she let out a low threatening snarl. She knew that the man was at least superhuman.

"Geezes," Nate said. "Where'd you wash in from?" He tilted his head. "I'm not going to hurt you, okay?"

If he was not going for the offence then it would be better not to provoke him. He seemed powerful, and X-23 still did not know the extent of his powers. She withdrew into a normal standing position, taking a step back, keeping her eyes intently on him.
