"The Kentucky Derby's that-away," said Fujiko, pointing.

"Thanks for the info." Pippi smiled looking up from the paper. "I'll keep that in mind if I need a hat."

Fujiko nodded, keeping her eye on the apparently literate monkey.

"You lost? Or new?"

"Bit of both to be honest."

Nate was wiping his hands with a rag on his porch when he spotted Pippi and her menagerie.

"Nice horse," he shouted as a greeting.

Pippi looked up from her paper and waved at the nice man, Old Man veered off the road and meandered up to him.

"Thank you very much." Pippi nodded. "Nice eye."

"Amazing what the Japanese can do these days, huh?" he said with a chuckle.

"Was is a Japanese magician?"

Nadia had gone out for a walk after her rather odd conversation with Dr. Quinzel. She went to investigate when she heard the sound of hooves on the pavement, and then stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the very familiar sight.

"Holy crap, Pippi?!"

"...Nadia?"

And that would be Nadia running full speed to Pippi, Old Man, and Mr. Neilson. "Dios, Pippi, what are you doing here?"

Pippi jumps off Old Man and runs at Nadia with Mr. Neilson scampering behind her.

"I'm here for school." she laughed. "What are you doing here?"
