Maybe Annie thought it was a date and Jeff didn't and he's going "Oh, crap, that was a date?"

I prefer to think they haven't been on a date, though, and Jeff's look is more along the lines of "I'd totally treat her better than that but I'm ashamed to say that I'm too much of a coward to date someone I care about on the off chance that I'll get weird looks".

At first I interpreted it as if they had gone on a date and it was deleted because that makes no sense but then I decided it was because he was jealous that she was going on dates with people that weren't him and also felt bad because they made her pay.

(I was the one who uploaded it - someone on Tumblr requested it after I made a gif set of the date part :))
