Hi folks,

Just a quick reminder that this round of the comment fic battle ends tonight at midnight (EST). We are happy to retire the battles indefinitely if there is no interest, but we just wanted to make sure people know it was going on. Thanks!

Don't retire them! I don't have any ideas of this particular prompt, but I love the battles :)

haha we discussed having a more structured prompt but I thought having it more vague might give people the leeway to just want what they wanted to write? but I've gotten this feedback from a few people in PMs. maybe we'll try one more tomorrow morning but I'll come up with a more structured prompt. thanks for commenting :)

I second the request to keep the battles going. I don't have the time to submit something this round, but I'll be able to get something up next round. I just need a whole week this time of year. (If that make sense.)

I think this time around it's a combination of the vague prompt and the fact that we're heading into Labor Day (at least for U.S.-based fans).

A lot of people are either unplugged and on vacation, or they're in the midst of gearing up for a return to school/college.

I would reduce it to once-a-week, though. Twice-a-week might be a bit much.

I was going to go with "ruthlessness" but was swayed to "pathological." I personally like the freedom of one word prompts but I understand why others don't. something else will be up tomorrow.

yup, this was going to be the last time it was twice a week, so definitely hear you on the once a week issue. I'll post a new one tomorrow and we'll see how that goes.

Don't retire them! They're one of the only things keeping me writing!

I just submitted one for this round. I almost always wait until the night of the very last day to submit.
