I've had this one written for a while, but I kept delaying posting it because I wanted to double-check what D'jose's fayth looked like. I'm glad I did, because I was completely wrong. *sheepish*. Next part soon - they'll continue to be slow, but hopefully more steady than they have been

*chortles* I am liking the roles the ffvii characters are sliding into. I should have realized Shinra would be the Maester XD

Until the moment I started writing Rufus it hadn't occurred to me to make Shinra the Maester, and then I was like 'duh, of COURSE he is'. ^_^

You know, I think that might be part of why your fic is so good. Things aren't obvious until you write them, but once we read them, it just seems like that was the natural way for things to be.

And poor Zack, as if he wasn't already afraid of lightning!

Rufus also has a bit of a point - Cloud is not fulfilling one of the traditional roles of a summoner, to be a 'light of hope' for Spira. I hesitated to bring him into this at all because I didn't want him to be too one-dimensional, so I'm glad you're sympathizing with him.

I come home from watching my nieces and this is waiting for me. So awesome and yet potentially awful for Zack. ;_; I hope Ixion some how missed him.

and poor Cloud, Ixion controlling him like that to really get him riled up to test him. =< bad aeon, no cookie.

Dah, Zack! I quite like how the Turks are being handled. Rufus has some good points even if there are counterarguments for most of the things he says.
