So, after that short two year hiatus I took, blueheronz has recently re-joined the folds of my Flist (*pounces her*). And one of her very first questions was . . . .

Why should I watch Chuck?

So, fellow Chuck fans, I pose the question to you: Why do you watch Chuck?

Because it makes me giggle. Because Chuck is just an average guy put into an absurd situation. Because Chuck is not absolutely gorgeous, rich, or suave, but he still gets the girl (even though Sarah can't admit it to him). Because nice guys do not finish last. Because I know people like those who work at the Buy More.

My hubby is coming home from Iraq on R&R leave soon and one of the things I'm going to do is make him sit and watch the whole series. I usually prefer dramas to comedies for my TV pleasure, but Chuck is too witty to pass up.

Also, because of all the dorks and geeks in the show, Captain Awesome is the dorkiest (admit it, he totally is!).

Great reasons! I think the quote in Chuck v. the Cougars sums it up best: "Sometimes the nerd gets the girl." ;-)

And the Buy More crew just rocks. Thunder Dome anyone? ;-)

hmm. because it's witty, and zac levi is so good at physical comedy, and yvonne does her own stunts as sarah, and adam baldwin is hilarious. the supporting cast is generally fantastic. chuck is adorably nerdy and unapologetic about it and sarah is strong and scared and kicks ass and would never ever betray chuck. and chuck and sarah are just so damn perfect for each other even though they never feel the same way about each other at the same time (save that one morning in a motel in barstow) and even if we don't see it on the show, you just know that they will end up together. because i gasp and yell and insist on quiet when i'm watching. because it has everything. it's just so *good* when not a lot of other television shows on the air right now are.

Watch Chuck because:

*it's funny
*it's sweet
*it's exciting
*it's escapist
*the supporting characters are as amazing as the leads
*it's unapologetically geeky
*it survived because of fandom
*an amazing canon OTP

*it's AWESOME.

Seriously, all the characters are great, aren't they? I don't think I've watched a show (save for maybe one) where I didn't have a favorite character because everyone rocked too hard core. And it's totally funny and sweet.

AWESOME. No wonder they gave a character that name. ;-)

And the actors are seriously talented, aren't they? I love simply watching Yvonne, 'cause she's so great at depicting all of her emotions beneath the surface of her eyes. Even if Sarah never says anything, and even if she tries to keep up the facade of being a professional, you know how she's feeling at any given moment. And the other actors rock, too, of course . . . ;-)
