So you got any tips for a guitar noob on how to avoid the E string when playing a C chord?

hey forest! are you strumming your chord? if you're playing a C major chord with the root on your A string, i would just practice the strumming pattern to not hit the E string; you could also kind of mute the E string with your ring finger (which is on C). or maybe you just want to start playing C further down the neck on the 8th fret of the E string.
