i'm just SO curious to see how they're going to use this in the show!

will they simply be putting on a 'show' for the group, or can mike chang actually not sing?! x]

i'm hoping and praying that the day will come that he will ACTUALLY get to sing on glee, but it might be a bit of a wait unfortunately. :\ at least there's this, though! x]

jfc not allowed to be so adorable while I'm still bitter its not a real song song! I'm really praying this is just them being cute and that he really can sing.

my thought about harry though was that, haven't Jenna, Chris and Lea all said, after having to blow notes on songs, that singing bad is actually harder than singing well? Like wouldn't Harry singing this song poorly all the way around mean in reality he's actually better than people are giving him credit for?

Purely speculative of course, but I'm imagining that the Mike story will go one of two ways: 1) he really can't sing (even though I'm sure Harry can to some extent) and it becomes a running gag or character point; or 2) Mike is nervous/shy to sing by himself (not everyone WANTS to be in the spotlight all the time) and they choose this song to take the pressure off.

Either way, if it services the character, I'm happy with it. I just don't want him to slip back into the background. I suspect that they are giving him the Brittany treatment and building him up for comic relief. Which Harry is suited for. And as Harry said in an interview, maybe they are actually showing Mike gain confidence and start speaking up/being more involved, so hopefully that will continue.

Or this is all total fanwank because I refuse to admit that Harry can't sing.

2 was my theory on it and its the way I'm praying they go, mostly because I think that would just up the adorableness like 10 fold. I'm terrified of it being that Mike can't sing, becuase while he can dance, he's in GLEE club and it just wouldn't make sense for him to be unable.

I agree with you 100% This proves Harry does comedy very well, but all of us who watch interviews and such know that already, but people llike my parents who only see the show are unaware of the hidden talent that's there. I just don't want this to end up reflecting negatively on Harry that's honestly my biggest fear, that suddenly people will be like, oh I get it, he must be the one guy in the show that can't sing that's why we never hear him and then instead of loving him they're just wondering wtf he's doing there.

I'm terrified of it being that Mike can't sing, becuase while he can dance, he's in GLEE club and it just wouldn't make sense for him to be unable. Especially since there's only twelve people -- if he couldn't sing, the audience would be able to hear it. I get that continuity isn't exactly this show's strong point, but to have him suddenly be the world's most terrible singer would be pretty hard to stomach.

I'm fond of the idea that this is the only way he can do a solo in front of the class, but I'd also be all right with this being his clever ploy to throw off the competition by doing something completely unexpected. Because you know that between Rachel, Kurt, and Mercedes all diva-ing off, there's no room for any more bombast anyway.

I can of have a feeling that they will win the competition. It's not just about the best voice, but the performance itself and compared to rest which are also well done, Sing! is more of a different and like someone said and unexpected and unique choice to sing for a duet.
