I don't feel like finding the link right now, but I saw an article on MSNBC about how Kentucky is finally doing away with those gosh-awful "Mr. Smiley" liscense plates. Back in 2003, Democrat Governor Paul Patton was in between sexual trysts, and he decided the best way to promote Kentucky (the most awesomest of all awesome states) was to scrap

1) Voldemort was the bad guy in Book One. Severus Snape worked for him, until Voldermort's apparent death at the end.
Incorrect - Snape was on Voldemort's side but that was before Harry was born. (so 16 years ago or so.) But he was working for the good guys in Book One through five, only Harry thought he was a bad guy. Because he's a mean teacher. *shrug* One of those Morally Ambiguous characters, who's a jerk to the heros, but hadn't done anything too bad in the past to them.

No one wants to set up a business in Indiana because no one wants to live here. That's why so many Hoosiers move once they get out college. Who the hell *would* want to stay here.

Of course, I'm in the corner by Chicago, so I've been using Daylight Savings Time forever. But is IN going to end up wholly CST or EST?
...they claim that changing the time zone will actually improve the state? o_o Weird.

I am *not* staying in this state.

Hah! That's what I originally thought Snape looked like. Then the movie came out and destroyed my vision of Snape.
Good call on the chapter being so damn long just for Snape to justify himself. I've never thought about it that way before. By the way:
1) nWo = Death Eaters
2) It was Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa's husband, who fucked up.

Yeah, I spotted the term "Death Eaters", but I wasn't sure if that included everyone, or if it was just a subgroup or something. Enh... I guess I'll stick with "Death Eaters". At least the Death Eaters never made Jeff Jarrett their leader.

I'm not a big Snape fan, but I do admire his genuine love of his work: he is a true academic (and the HP world has no universites, so the poor man has to teach bored brats instead of happy students) There is a passage coming up that illustrates this, but I've seen many Snapefen comment on a passage in the first book where he talks with passion and poetry about the subject of Potions.
He is also drily witty and, for people like me, a refreshing change from Harry-worshippers. He does a bit far in this but he is often right that Harry breaks rules and gets away with it. There is also some interesting stuff about how he was at school with Harry's dad and how Harry's dad was a complete bitch to him. It was the best part of book 5.
I agree that this double/triple/whatever agent stuff is a bit wet.
