You're still reading "The Casual Vacancy"? I don't think I even made it halfway through before I gave up on that book. I don't think anything happened ever. :P

Well, I stopped and then started again, so I guess it's not exactly "still" reading it, but yeah.

Some stuff happens in the second half of the book, but it's still incredibly boring. I mean, hell, I just covered the rape scene, and I'm still struggling to justify reading the second half.

I did enjoy this, because you obviously took a lot of time in thinking about the book. But I will point out that Andrew did stand up for Ruth getting beaten when Simon was angry about the council post, and this did the exact opposite of helping both of them. In fact, it was what started Simon on his beating of Andrew ( ... )
