Oh goodness, you sound awful, miss! I hope you've a doctor handy, just in case-you can never be too certain.

[What, Sayo is a noisy ex-housewaifu, don't you know?]

Oh. Yeah. [Vague handwave, even though the journal doesn't really pick that up.] One of my crew is a doctor, so he'll take good care of me. Thanks, though.

One of your crew? It's not often you have a doctor in your group! That must come in handy, for days like these.

You weren't out and about too much in this weather lately, were you?

Aha... maybe a little. The last couple of weeks were kind of crazy. I don't think I was dressed for it.

[Heck, the first time she didn't have pants on. Good job, chibi!Nami.]

Oh goodness, you're absolutely right about that! I shrank small, and then two of the people I knew turned into children-and without any memories of me, so it was a little awkward. And then I began bursting into song for no particular reason! Even at work!

It was so embarrassing!

Oh god, tell me about it. My entire crew went and serenaded a house a couple days ago. And most of us have been younger or older the entire time.

[Sayo chuckles in good nature.]

That sounds like quite an experiment, having people serenade a house.

Ah! Is crew another world for 'family'?

[That earns a grin.] It may as well be, sometimes. But we're a crew because we all sail together on a ship.

A... ship? What might that be?

[Huh, seriously? They must not have oceans where she's from or something.]

A ship.. a boat. Um. It's a vessel that can carry you across the water.

[Get used to using 'seriously?' a lot around her, Nami.]

Oh, yes! I understand now. So you're seafaring people! Fishermen?

[NEVER.]

Pirates, actually. Though not the traditional kind. [Though she wonders if this woman knows what pirates are-- wait, she knows what the sea is. Er.] Where are you from?

Aha, traditional or non, I might have to learn what a pirate is to begin with.

[A small laugh, and she pauses at the question.]

I'm from Japan! My name's Sayo-it's a pleasure to meet you, miss.

My name's Nami. It's a pleasure to meet you, too. [Another one from Japan. There's a few of you 8|] A traditional pirate is kind of like a bandit, only they keep to the sea. They attack other ships and steal all their treasure, and often come ashore to raid villages, too. They're not nice at all.

Nami... What a pretty name...

[But egads! She frowns at that description.]

Oh my-that sounds dreadful! But you're not the traditional type of 'pirate'?

No. [...what's the best way to explain.] But we're a crew at sea that doesn't obey the authorities, so I guess that's what we're classed as. [More complicated than that, yes, but it'll do for a start.]
