I love this AU. It's very vivid, and so easy to imagine Charles labelled as crazy before he learns to shield himself. Is he actually having the headaches and the nausea from the medication?

Erik all comfortable and confident is interesting.. has this Erik gone through the same things canon Erik has?

One thing that jars me a bit is that people in the marine research centre keep diving into the water in their clothes. Unless they all wear wetsuits all the time?

Thank you! The idea is that the medication doesn't work, but as someone who gets really bad side-effects for headache medicine (lolwat) that's where I'm getting it from. So, yes and no.

There isn't a modern equivalent to the Holocaust, which shaped the Erik in the movie, but he'll be definitely going through something here.

...And I should go back and edit and make it clear that yes, people are in wetsuits, except for that first time in Ch. 2 when Erik just showed up.
