Hey Lisa :)

Quality feedback always wins over lots of short little 'Nice' type messages. :) And your fic deserves only the best. Mind you, I haven't read anything by you in a while - why don't you write in the fandoms/with pairings that I'm in, why! - but I do remember the fact that you sure do have a way with words. Your writing was always so beautiful and you could always paint such a picture with so few words.

I wanted to write a long response to this post - especially the dog bit - but I fear I may be too sleepy/drunk to do this properly. But I have a Labrador at the moment and she is the best dog I've ever had - kind, loving, playful, sweet and serious when need be.

Also, Lisa I miss you. :) We need to talk more.... do you still have the same mobile number? Maybe I should text you randomly... :):):)

Oh man, I wish I wrote more in the fandoms we share too. I wish I wrote more, full stop. BigBang seems to have sucked the writinglife out of me or something. I'm sure I'll get back there, eventually.

I do want a big dog, I've never had one before. We're not on a great deal of property, though, so I think at this stage it might be a bit selfish to take on the responsibilty. That said, I would take it to obedience school, and walk it every day, so. I'll keep thinking.

I miss you too :D It's so easy to lose track of people wen life gets hectic. Especially people who you don't see or aren't nearby. I should have the same number :) You? I hope you're well <3

my family had a mutt when I was younger: mix of cocker spaniel, poodle, terrier, mostly, named Smoky. We got her when she was a tiny pup and she was adopted by our cat Patches. There were always cats around and she grew up thinking she was a cat (or so we think.) Every time we petted her she would growl very quietly and nudge us for more - her version of purring. She did what our cats did, attempted to climb trees, caught mice and so on. When one of our other cats had eight kittens and abandoned two, Smoky adopted them.

She was a weird dog, but I liked her. Gentle, playful, and always happy to see us. I actually like mutts more than purebreds, but that could just be me.

Yeah, we've never really been a 'purebred' family. Some of our most beloved pets have been a mixture of one thing or another. I was also considering going to the pound, on a resuce mission. I'm just preoccupied with the thought of having a Dalmatian. I'm not sure where it began!

Thanks for replying, I love hearing about other peoples pets :) It sounds like you had a lovely addition to the family in Smoky <3

My mom and I had a Dalmatian for 14 years -- he just passed last July. He was not perfect, I won't lie. He wasn't socialized enough when he was younger so he was always very sort of up in arms when we had people over at the house. But if they were over enough, he would eventually get used to them. I can't say how he would've been if we had socialized him more when he was younger. But you definitely have to make it known with that breed (really, any large dog) that you are the Alpha of the pack or they will walk allll over you ( ... )

Thanks so much for the reply! That's a lot of insight. I've been hearing people talk about how Dalmatians aren't the smartest dogs, so that's interesting. I guess they have their indivual traits, just like us.

It's really important for me that when I do get another dog - however far into the future it might be - it gets socialising/obedience training. Our dog we have now, while we love him, is terrible with other dogs, and doesn't really like little kids either, especially if they're crowding him.

You're right, no matter what dog I get, of what age or anything, they need your time and effort, and love, so. Yeah. Again, thanks so much for your comment, and letting me know about your dog. Just out of curiosity, what was his name?

Leonberger :D I've never, ever heard of them. I'm going to Google them.

Aw, Irish Terriers are beautiful :D We used to have a Maltese Shih Tzu that sounds a lot like your dog. She would pretend to be brave, and bark a lot, but if anything came near her she'd back off pretty quick.

Thanks so much for the comment :)
