Oh, man, cliffhangers. I knew I should have waited to read until you had everything posted, but I had a chunk of free time and thought how bad could it really be, you know, to have to wait for the last few chapters? I should have known! :D

I have a feeling this whole situation is going to end badly. Jim and Bones will make it out for sure, but given their actions in the ST movie (sneaking Jim on board the Enterprise, manipulating Spock into declaring himself emotionally compromised, ignoring Pike's order not to come after him, etc.), I'm not sure that they're going to come out of this situation with a lot of confidence in the system or uncritical respect for the chain of command. Which to me, at least, suggests really bad things still to come for the Araxians. Although maybe Bex will figure out what the Kazarite ambassador has been up to, and the revelation of that element of the plot will convince Porter to take different actions? I can hope!
