Really? I mean, it's mostly that my screen name is tied to my fic like that. That's why I was so excited about it. But everyone reacts differently, I suppose.

Well, I've had short hair for over ten years. When I was in the Army, I kept it just barely longer than buzzed. I'd just kept it "longer-short" for a couple of years. It's the difference between this short:
