i definitely modeled it after a fish/parasite/scary thing (i looked up many youtube vids and google images) to get a contrast between the soft fluffy things vs. spikey scary thing.
I didn't really read "things to fix" until I played (figured out the wrap deal haha).
1. A instructions guide would be nice. 2. More lvls and maybe score eventually. 3. The sounds for parasite dying and host dying are the same so distinguish between the two when you make more levels. Maybe to advance level you have to score a certain number of points while not dying and killing your host? 4. Does killing white cells do anything? 5. Suggestions: Virus, Parasite, Infection, use 2 words starting with Viral.
thanks for your input, 1) i am weary of adding 'instructions' because i want people to find out things on their own, but since i am going through that, i should make it more apparent. i'm glad you figured out the 'wrap' deal! 2) that is a good idea, my prof actually rec'd i do that, too. i'm just really sucky at sounds/ recording sounds and finding them !! 3) i am actually thinking of adding another game dynamic, like in order to win a 'level' you have to kill the host, but also find another host before the next one dies. 4) right now, as a demo, you can kill the white cells and kill the host, or you can just linger and die yourself. either way, you both die. i'm a pessimist. 5) ?? 6) thanks for your input!!! this comes from someone who doesnt play video games who is building video games lololol.
neato game (: Have you considered changing the parasite's movement interface? Like if you press left or right, the parasite turns while moving forward rather than actually going directly left or right from exactly where it is on the screen, so then if you press up it goes forward, 3 button movement! I think it'd be easier for someone to learn to control. I don't know haha. I do know I need a better graphics card if this game evolves to be more flashy though xD
