I haven't watched this but here's an interesting bit: both james McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were in "Band of Broters", HBO's miniseries about Easy Company of the US Army 101st Airborne division and their mission in WWII Europe from Operation Overlord through V-J Day. Everything is based on real events and real people, which gives this mini series that special feel as you watch the story unfold. War things are usually something I avoid, but "Band of Brothers" is one of my favorite things ever. Entire cast is amazing, the series is emotional and sometimes hard to watch, but so very worth it, and considering what the story is... I think it deserves to be seen. So I'm taking a chance to recommend it to you :)

Oh that's right. They were both in Band of Brothers! I can't believe I forgot. And you're right, it's an amazing miniseries. But then again, I love nearly all of HBO's original work.

I have a special SPECIAL place in my heart for all the Band of Brothers boys. <3! (also they were both minor characters, but I'm a BoB freak, a little bit - husband and I rewatch it twice a year at least.) And HBO does good stuff. *nods* Husband loved "The Pacific" as well... I couldn't watch it, that one was too much for me.

The Pacific is a lot more...bloody. But it's definitely one of my favourites too.
