Magic wands are overrated.

Honestly, everyone has a talisman of some kind, but if I've learned anything since coming here it's that I'm a stronger magician for learning to do magic without them.

On another subject: "modern" music -- I assume a large majority of you are from times similar to the ones explored on the pub jukebox, so it is to them I ask ( Read more... )

Look, maybe this just isn't a good idea after all.

I don't know. I need to think. Are we meeting tomorrow?

Yes, we are.

Mozenrath, I can see your conversation with-

Even if you are particularly dismal at our brand of magic, knowing it can not be detrimental.

...You can't see all of it.

Whatever he is saying to you, you mustn't allow it to anger you. He lost Lupin scant days before the anniversary of their best friend's death.

And I, in an attempt to help, may have made things worse.

Do you wish to allow him to interfere in plans about which you were, presumably, enthusiastic - simply because he's sulking?

What if they're the wrong plans? What happens if I graduate and I follow you home as we discussed, and I'm wrong and our magics can't coexist outside of the Barge? If I'm seen as not a wizard but something else? What if I don't belong there?

These are all valid concerns, but negligible. I've found some things simply are - and if you are able to employ the magic of my world here using a borrowed wand, I have no doubt you will do so there with your own. With far more skill.

As to whether you belong there: you belong with us.

Yeah.

...I need to do some thinking. I'll see you tomorrow if not sooner.

If you do reconsider, don't allow Sirius to be the catalyst. He is...lashing out.

Yeah. Well, for someone firing off at random he's got pretty good aim.

He doesn't matter.

Loathe as I am to admit it, he needs a friend now more than ever.

Even if the only action on your part is to forgive his behaviour and wait for him to come around.

Which flies directly in the face of what I told him. I am truly at a loss in dealing with his codepende

Why do I always have to be the one that forgives and forgets?

Because you have the strength of character, grace, and compassion to do so.

Unlike most.

[Unlike me, he means.]

You simply have difficulty employing those qualities.

Well at least I know I've got you fooled. Now it's just the rest of every universe I need to work on.

[Well at least his sense of humor seems to be restoring itself.]

Yes, well, remember: confidence is key.
