Our mornings are in the low 40's, and afternoons reach 80, but no warmer than that. Its perfect Fall weather. Had fog today, burnt off late morning. Very typical Bay Area for the season. I love this time of year. Wish it would rain though. The grass smells good once it rains properly, from the mildew and mold that releases the humic and folic acids. Hope the rain stops so you can run soon. It must be driving you nuts having to skip it. Or are you running in a rainsuit with flashing lights so drivers will see you?
And I run in the rain, come on, any runner worth his or her salt is going to do so. It's actually quite fun. I ran with my training group yesterday before it got dark, but when I go out in the mornings by myself I wear a reflective vest and stick to the sidewalks no matter the weather.
I used to run in the rain, but the tricky part is getting warm enough, and staying that way so your skin's pores don't close and then cause a histamine reaction, which hurts like the dickens. Used to have similar problems on frosty mornings. That is one aspect of running I don't miss, though when I was warm enough and could stay that way, running in the bizarro weather was enjoyable. And I ran in Annadel, which is all mountains and canyons rather than traffic so it was nice.
