I was told to join the community because I'd be able to find out things about the city from the people who live there as opposed to websites that'll make it appear as the greatest place in the world for capitol gain. Well, I'm sick of that community. It appears most of the people there are simply members to try to make others feel like shit.

Seattle is overflowing with hipster douche-baggery.

I can say this because I live here & I see it every single day.

About the LAST thing I would tell you to do is join a Seattle Com on LJ. People LIVE to make other people feel like shit and look for excuses to act like pickle dicks.

If I haven't gotten into a fight here, chances are you'll be OK.

Yeh the people in the comm are total assholes, I'm not sure why. People seem to think it's funny but it really bothers me too and makes me not want to ask questions there. I've actually thought about making a "if you live in Seattle but you're not an asshole for no reason" comm. FWIW, the people I've actually dealt with in person here haven't been like that most of the time.

People in the Seattle community are passive aggressive. They like to fight online because you don't know who they are. You won't get into fights out here because people won't look you in the eye. Don't worry about it.
