No, no Supernatural squee from this corner. It's just amusing to see so many posts with Styx's Renegade in the titles, and I've been shaking my head at my flist since about 10:05 p.m. last night

Hee. In 1979 I was 13 and I remember listening to that album, and that song, over and over again with my girlfriends. I constantly am amused when people think that covers of songs from that time are the only versions. Or, like you, when they tend to squee so much over a song. But hey, it's a fantastic song and I just might have to dig out my Styx cds so I can rip them. I could stand listening to that song today.
I miss vinyl records! I still have quite a few of my old LPs, and I specifically saved my Split Enz - True Colours LP because it was one of the first laser etched LPs. And I still have Cornerstone and Paradise Theater, but I'm not sure if my other Styx LPs survived. I also miss my favorite Styx concert t-shirt - it had "Styx" spelled out on the front in purple glittery letters. My mother hated it, of course, because everything came out of the wash with sparkles on it! :-P
God, I loved those magazines! We drooled over them and all the pin-ups! Well, except Scott Baio and Robby Benson. I hated when they were the centerfolds! :-P
They really do use some excellent tunes for that show. I've been very pleased on that front.
I love Styx lots and lots, but ever since the company I was in did a dance* to that song, I have a hard time listening to it without wanting to get up and shake my thing.
*no, really! I even got to dance with a feather boa.
ahahaha. Damn. So old. Me, that is. I had a Styx squee recently on my journal. Tonight, however, squee of another kind, with very similar subjects. Not sure if you will for the music itself, but still a similar theme.
/random Did see Cheap Trick the other night. Awesome. Speaking of cute little blond lead singer posters...

My hubby's in complete agreement about the SPN soundtrack too. He doesn't watch the show but he nods in approval when he hears the music.

Yep, the music on Supernatural seems more real to me than most of the crap they generate today. Never can go wrong with the classics...
And OMG, your new default icon is *gorgeous*

I am so in love with that picture, and a few others. They're from Winterfell

Oh god! Robin Zander!! He was yummy! Live at Budokan was one of the biggest LPs of '79, and was played quite often!
