While I was not sleeping ...

Mar 29, 2012 03:04

I really should be sleeping. Maybe I shouldn't have had those two large cups of tea earlier ...

So, a meme, and maybe it'll inspire me to get off my arse (once I write my Remix first!) and finish this sucker!

1. Go to page 7 of your most recent WiP
2. Count seven lines down
3. Copy and paste the next seven lines of text

YES! You know, the one that I've been writing for 5 1/2 YEARS! (Oh, God. And I haven't worked on it since last spring, either. It's over 6K words! Why can't I finish it????)

Hahahaha! Aslan is clearly Dumbledore in 'our' world! Lion = Gryffindor! (Actually, he'd be more like the Narnia equivalent of Aziraphale who's been hanging out with Crowley for far too long.)

The drama sounds like a lot of (cracky) fun. I may need to poke you about how to find it for myself.

I'm still sorry I missed you guys last week. The whole dealing with the hospital thing was exhausting at best, and had to be done, but timing is everything. :(

I enjoyed reading The Hunger Games but haven't gotten to the 2nd or 3rd book yet. People who've seen the movie (it seems like everyone but me) liked it so have fun. I'll prolly wind up seeing it when it hits dvd or cable.

Jed Bartlett will always be the greatest president of the 20th century! :)

PS Yes, you have to finish the damn Narnia fic. I wanna read it!

It's here! (What? Me enabling?)

I hope your dad's okay. You need to get yourself on a better sleep cycle! :-P

♥Jed!♥ (Only, I still see Lawrence O'Donnell as his father! Hee!)

I really do! FIVE AND A HALF YEARS!! *cries*

Awww! That's so sweet - I actually wrote Remus giving Sirius the gift of a "fake Narnia" at the expense of a LOT of charms--in "Bleak House"

Hee! That sounds like fun! Mine is James & Sirius accidentally adventuring. They snuck out to Hogsmeade to pick up Firewhisky and were supposed to be right back, as Remus and Peter are waiting for them. Oops? :-P

I really need to finish it. This is getting pathetic!

I know! I do have it bookmarked, but I have a paid membership at DF. And I'd rather wait for the eps to be completely subbed rather than 90 or 99%.

Are you watching it??

I so want to read that story now. You simply MUST finish it!

I know! It's really pathetic how long it's been sitting on my hard drive. I managed to get to this one point in the story, and then I crashed and burned. I thought, if I'm bored, how would anyone else reading it feel? I mean, there's cute and silly stuff, but it needs that 'punch'. I do have an idea how to fix that, but it means going back a bit and inserting a couple of things. Which is fine, except that every time I open the doc, I have to read it through from the beginning, and then I start tweaking things - language, grammar, and stylistic things mostly - and by the time I get to the part where I need to start adding little hints of things, I'm all Narnia'd out.

Did I mention pathetic? :-P

LOL. It's not pathetic at all. In fact, I do something very similar. And it's funny how, in the end, all my stories grow increasingly less polished as they move toward the end. I spend WAY more time tweaking and re-tweaking the beginnings.
