Yesterday, I was supposed to go for a hysteroscopy, which is basically where they dilate your cervix and do a quick peek around. My pap last month showed a few cells that are generally only found inside the uterus, and my doc wants to check for potential polyps or something. (Not cancer though!) Except, I got my period 10 days early and had to ( Read more... )

Good luck with the doctors! I'm glad it is all very encouraging and not scary. ::hugs:: Hopefully it will all go as easily as possible!

Last time, I was really nervous. Now it feels more like a nuisance. :-P

Thanks, Lissa! ♥

So all those good vibes I was send your way on Tuesday were for nowt? Sheesh, Lisa, what's with you?! :p

I'm sorry the hysteroscopy got postponed, but I've been through that before too. Oh, wacky bodies making our lives more interesting. I think I told you there was some special ultrasound test I was supposed to have at a place in Plainview, but it could only be done exactly seven days after my period (when the uterine lining is the thinnest) and I never know when my period is about to happen so making an appt is a bitch. Plus they couldn't tell me on the phone whether it was seven days after the first big flow or seven days after I started staining (which is always fun and a crap shoot) so I never did have it done. Meh.

Good luck on the biopsy today. Just because it doesn't sound pleasant either. Let me know when you wanna go see X-men. I'm up for it whenenver. Let me know when you're free (and free to tawk -- there's Stuff I need to share). LOL

Hey, crashing your comment thread here. :) If you're talking about a hysterosalpingogram, when I had mine I just called them on day 1 of my cycle. Since it's a time-sensitive kind of test, they generally accommodate you on kind of short notice - at least that was my experience. Good luck to you, too.

That sounds about right. I know it was some kind of high tech super ultra-sound. The problem with me is I don't know WHEN my first day is because I get what's known as a dragging period so there's staining for anywhere from 2-5 days and then a sort of actual period for 2-5 days and when I asked them outright on the phone, they couldn't tell me which was considered the first day. Only that if it wasn't precisely the 7th day, then it wouldn't be a valid test etc. Also, the staining is hard to catch initially so I could very easily miss the first day...it's all messed up. Which is why I need the test, but I can't go for it because I have no idea when it's the optimum day. (Plus my own personal schedule is such that trying to find a day to make an appointment with such short notice isn't easy either. *sigh*)

Ugh, joy. :/ Yeah, I seem to recall (I had it done about five years ago) that there was a window of 7-10 days from LMP, but I'm sure every radiology department has their own specifications. Hope you can get to the bottom of whatever's going on, either way!

Thanks! ♥ ♥ The lady parts can be a real pain. (Not that I'd trade them for man parts though. Well, maybe temporarily as a curiosity, but that's about it. Hee!)
