I find it personally annoying, not that we feel a need to believe in certain perspectives or absolutes, but rather that we feel a need to impose these beliefs and absolutes on others to the exclusion of any consideration of an opposing viewpoint.
Yes. My feelings exactly. There are certain things I simply won't read (mostly shippy things) but that doesn't mean that they're wrong or bad. I tend to shy away from debates so I don't know for certain how fervent people are in their beliefs, but...I can imagine it.
