walking in a winter wonderland

Wow - it's snowing like a mofo out! I was sitting on my couch watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal for the umpteenth time (a Korean drama that I will eventually wax rhapsodical about to you all soonish because it is awesomesauce) and realized that I forgot to put my windshield wipers up. (For those who don't drive, I put them up so that they don't freeze ( Read more... )

let it snow, it's a 'lizzard

I do love when there's a storm and I'm online watching it roll through all the areas! It finally stopped here, but it piled up very quickly.

It's getting heavier here - we've had several inches in the last two hours. They said 6 - 8, but we have that already. So pretty! It was nice and crunchy under my boots! But my favorite thing is how the sound is muffled and everything seems so quiet, even with the wind. Even the waves were quiet.

Pssst - I forgot! Happy (belated!) Australia Day!!

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;

(I still like Waltzing Matilda best though! :-P)

Have fun with all that! I love snow when I don't have to shovel it or drive (much) in it.

The IRS won't accept "snow day" as an excuse for late returns. Then screw them.

Hee! That would be a nice turnaround, since it's always them screwing us. :-P

We got 16 inches of snow!! I don't have to shovel any walkways or driveways, but I do have to go out and clear off my car in a few. Thank god I bought a mini shovel (with a collapsible handle) last year.

I came looking - good to see you're still around! We're having the opposite problem (too much heat), but I was in the UK for Christmas, so I know what a bind lots of snow feels like. :)

*digs out from under 16 inches of snow* I'm still alive! How's Team Down Under doing? E is usually melting. We haven't had any big group emails this go-around. (We're so cliquish! :-P) You guys have had an insane summer this year. The heat has been the least of your worries. Crazy weather everywhere. But hey - climate change is a farce and all.

Happy (Belated) Australia Day!

Team Down Under is going pretty well! It's too hot to exercise, but at least we're not having any problems downing gallons of water. :P

Hope you and your team are doing well with the final week! Finishing strait in sight. :)

I was just thinking about you, with all the snow! (Ironically, up here where we're ready for it, we haven't gotten very much. There' probably about a foot and half on the ground, from a couple 3" storms.) Is the beach under snow just beautiful? I love beaches so much--next summer we'll see yours.

Happy snow day! M.

Definitely having a fandom beach party at my place this summer! :-D

The beach is awesome with the snow! I never take pics, but here's one that was in our city calendar a while back:

Oh, beautiful!

It's really odd. Somehow the whole snow-south-of-us thing doesn't really make sense to me... M.
